What should I do with stray cat found

So about a week or so I found a stray cat , and was able to capture it. It had microchip information and I attempted to contact the potential owner but to no avail . Now I’m conflicted/ feeling guilty about possibly giving the cat up due to the cat being a senior cat. However I’m not able to take care of the cat as adequately as I would want ( recently graduated from university). I have a small studio apartment with a dog . My friends recommend I keep it due to age but I’m not so sure , due to reason I mention above.

My question is should I take it to a shelter or rescue ( for reference lol shelters in my city are no-kill)? I want the cat to go to a good home and to get a lot of attention . My question is should I keep the cat of not? If not then should I take it to a shelter or rescue ?
