Advice for an old dog

He's a large mixed breed, we think chow/shepherd/bully mix. He's got lots of lumps, the vet said they can biopsy them, but he's too old to do any surgery on. I don't feel like the biopsy is worth the pain it would cause him. Any thoughts or advice is very welcome. Tia
