getting a dog in college
ok, this may be a bit long because I want to explain the situation.
I am in my 3rd year of college and I live with 3 other people. I am thinking of getting a french bulldog. Everyone in my apartment is in agreement (they all WANT a dog) and are willing to help care for the dog. The only thing I am concerned about is my social life/spontaneous personality. Since we are in a pandemic, I don’t think that should be too much of a problem right now. Also, if I were to go out, there would most likely always be someone else at the apartment to watch over the dog (I have one roommate who is a homebody). Also, my family is more than happy to have the dog stay with them if necessary, so if it ends up being too much, the dog can stay with them. I also am choosing a french bulldog because of their mellow and relatively low maintenance nature.
For reference, I want to get the dog as an ESA for my anxiety, which I think would be extremely beneficial to me. However, since my anxiety is mostly social-related, I am now getting anxious that my social life will be compromised. I was wondering what other people’s thoughts and experiences are.
