Hi! I live in India. There is a semi feral cat that I have been feeding since some time. She is very comfortable around my family and sometimes even sleeps inside if the weather is bad. She is very nervous around people and doesn't go near anyone else. She just runs away if someone else is around.
She had injured her leg a couple of weeks ago. I tried giving her antibiotics after talking to a vet. She took her medicine only twice and refused to eat it after that. The wound looks mostly healed. It has shrunk significantly now and I couldn't find any pus or signs of infection when I checked earlier today.
She delivered 3 kittens in our store room a week ago. After delivery she has been acting very odd and stopped eating kibble all together. Today when I tried giving her wet food, she refused to eat it. She has lost weight and is looking sick. She left her kids alone without feeding them for about 12 hours yesterday only to return this morning. They were fed about 5 hours ago. She returned an hour ago, to have some water and is sleeping behind a bush now. She is refusing to come inside even after I called her several times. The kittens are kept warm and are sleeping now.
There are no animal shelters or other organizations that help strays where I live. There are no vets who provide home visits. Since she is not used to people picking her up, I don't think she'll remain calm if I try to take her to the vet.
I am really worried about her and her kittens and feel helpless. Is there anything I can do to help them?
