Difficult relative and troubled multiple-pet household situation

Would love an opinion on a difficult relative and troubled, multiple-pet household situation. A relative of mine has a cat who I really love. A few years ago she added a dog to the house, who is very rambunctious and not trained. While they get along sometimes, the dog is always fighting with and intimidating the cat out of any joy (scaring him off every time he tries to play, stealing the two toys he owns, barking at him for sitting on the couch, etc). The relative just laughs it off and clearly favors the dog. She has no desire to train it to not harass the cat. It’s been really upsetting to watch the cat’s happiness and confidence drop, and his weight skyrocket over the years. He rarely gets play time (myself and other family members play with him when we visit) and he’s clearly obese, but again the owner laughs it all off. She swears he is not fat or unhappy, and refuses to start feeding him healthy food despite multiple people trying to change her mind. Well, this week she randomly bought a new kitten without even telling her husband. She didn’t do any proper or slow introductions between animals, of course. The dog seems fine but the cat is clearly upset, so much so that he’s vomiting. She’s once again swearing that it will be fine, saying the cat just needs to get used to the kitten. She won’t listen to anyone including her own husband telling her this is a terrible idea. It seems like there is just absolutely no getting through to her and that she has no ability to see each animal’s point of view or feelings. She is so dismissive of any concerns raised, genuinely thinks this is all fine, and that everyone else doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I know it could be worse like none of the pets are being starved or physically abused or anything thank god, but it still breaks my heart for the sad old cat. What would you do here? I’m torn between minding my business since I know fighting with her is pointless, and kidnapping the cat so it can start a new life lol (kidding but ugh 😞)
