Advice or help: I have rashes when cat touches me with nose, but not when he licks me. Am I allergic to cats?????

I recently noticed I have rashes when cat touches me with nose, but not when he licks me. Am I allergic to cats????? If so, why licking is fine but sniffing is not... thanks in advance!
