Can I switch vets and say I just adopted my cat to get out of showing my new pet insurance that my cat has allergies and asthma?

My 3 year old cat seems healthy when you check him out. We just discovered he has asthma and was given a steroid shot by the vet and now he seems fine. He also has allergies and has had to have more tests and steroid shots done in the past. This has all been very expensive.

I just got pet insurance and would love to not list these as preexisting conditions if I can get around it. I was thinking I could get a wellness exam done at a new vet and say I just adopted the cat and don't have any previous records.

I know this is shady, but does anyone know if this could this work?
