Cat safe room location: help!

Hi! I’m planning on fostering and eventually adopting a cat. I’ve never done this before so I’d greatly appreciate some advice!

I’m trying to figure out the right safe room for the cat to introduce them to my house. I live in a one bedroom apartment so there isn’t a ton of space. I have two options: my bedroom (which has some books that I can carve out for the cat) or the bathroom (which is small and there’s often water pooling in the shower, but the shower door does slide shut). I don’t really use my bedroom for anything besides sleep + getting ready in the morning (I work out of my living room).

Which would you recommend for the cat safe room? I will also say that if it’s the bedroom, I would eventually want to move the litter box to the bathroom area, is that ok? Is it ok for me to use the bathroom if the bathroom is the safe room or sleep in my bed if the bed is the safe room?
