Poem I wrote when my dog passed

To my Lady Bug,

It all started late one night You crawled on my lap and I held you tight

You liked to play and have your fun, but mommy and daddy loved watching you run.

With so heart and soul you brought light, you always made our dark days bright.

No matter the seasons you were full of joy, mommy still always bought you a toy.

When we were sick you never left our side, honestly typing this I still cried.

I’m saying too much, as any Daddy would but my heart hurts as I know it should.

As I sit here the one thing I miss is our little girl giving us a kiss.

Your brother noticed your empty space, but he will never forget a great chase.

He’s not sure if you’re home but now he knows you can’t steal his bone.

It’s hard to tell in his eyes but for his sister he still quietly cries.

In our hearts you will always be, but Daddy’s little girl is not with me.

Time will pass and our hearts will heal, but your love for us was very real.

Our little girl with Angels you fly into the beautiful bright blue heavenly sky.

For now I must go but one thing you should always know.

Mommy and Daddy loved you with all our hearts and souls.

Rest in piece my little girl.
