Can I disinfect bentonite cat litter with ethanol and reuse it instead of buying new litter ever single month?

According to what I read, the main purpose of changing the litter is to prevent bacterial proliferation so why not killing those bacteria instead of changing the litter? And ofc I will be washing the box every time I disinfect the litter.
