Hi! I’m a college student who doesn’t live at home (I live on campus) and the proud co-owner of three cats; Shiloh, Halfie, and Apple Dumpling (also known as Dumplin). I say co-owner as they’re even family pets. I’m visiting home for the first time since spring break and when I went to greet the girls Halfie scratched and hissed at me.
She lets my sister and parents pet her just fine but she’s acting like I’m a stranger or enemy to her. She hasn’t done this before, typically when I’m home she sleeps in bed with me and is very affectionate. Did I do something to anger her or is this just a mood? She’s currently curled up next to my sister purring but whenever I get close she tries to scratch at me.
Any advice would be helpful! I love my cats, they’re my little babies, so this hurts my heart quite a bit. I’ve read that it could be my scent but I’m not sure as the only thing I’ve changed is my body wash.
