To be clear, I'm not here for anyone to diagnose my cat. I would like advice for my own mental health during this time so I can take care of my cat. I've been to the vet twice this month, and have another appointment in 2 days. She has all shots and tested negative for all the major scary diseases. The cat is not severely ill, and eats and drinks and has been given antibiotics, steroids and still just stays kinda the same. How do you stay sane while the vet figures this out? My last cat passed from cancer and while I know this one has been tested negative I still am terrified that this little 4 year old girl is going to be diagnosed with something horrible.
I have crying spells, days where I am just consumed with going through in my mind all the things that could go wrong.
Has anyone had similar times of waiting and frustrating test after test? And how did you cope? I appreciate any help. I love this cat like family and it's just slowly wearing me down.
