So i have two cats, one is the mother and the other is her daughter. The daughter cat recently gave birth to a litter of kittens. Ever since then the mother cat has started avoiding the daughter cat.
She would sniff the daughter cat and run away. The daughter would come to her to show affection but the mother would sniff her and then go away. The daughter cat hasn't been hostile to the mother even once and we keep the newborn kittens seperate from her as well. Yet still the mother cat avoids her daughter and even hisses at her sometimes when she comes near her.
Can someone explain why this is happening?
