My gf and I put the cat in her bedroom for now. We don't have any spare rooms or want to use the bathroom since we're living in a shared apartment. Cat has been hiding for the past few hours since we got it and it looked like it's heart was beating fast. Looks like the cat is scared. We can't leave the cat alone in the room as my gf has her office setup in the room. We've put the litter box, cat tree, scratching post, food and water, and cat bed in the room. Cat should have everything he needs. Any advice on how to make it more welcome and hopefully get it to stop hiding? Should we try to talk, feed, pet, play or anything else with the cat? Should we just leave it completely alone? Thanks.
