i adopted a kitten (3 months currently) a month ago who had been getting treated for ringworm while she was still at the humane society. she tested negative once while in the shelter and when i went to get her first test done after adopting her, her results came back positive. she doesn't have any lesions however and i, or anyone else in my household for that matter, do not have ringworm. i've been giving her her oral medication everyday and giving her her medicated baths every three days, twice a week. i feel really bad for her because she has to quarantine in my room with me as its the only room in the house she can be in. i currently have one of those outdoor playpens set up with a blanket zip tied to the top so she can have her own space without getting out. i am a college student currently in summer session so it has been a bit difficult without having normal access to my room and i am finding very little help elsewhere online.
since she has no lesions but tested positive, about how much longer do i have to maintain this if it's possible to give an estimate? i've been taking her to the shelter as they stated they would continue her treatment and testing but the results take about two weeks, should i continue to go to the shelter clinic for the treatment or go to a vet? she's been getting treated for over a month since she was being treated while in the shelter as well. do the two negative tests need to be consecutive to one another?
thanks all for your help, sorry if this post was a bit scatterbrained!
