Hi everyone! New cat owner here
My fiancé recently bought 2 new kittens - both are British shorthairs. We have both never had cats before but are obsessed!
The first cat (Male) is 4 months old and joined us in April. The 2nd (Female) her name is Mona, is 2.5 months old and we’ve had her 3 weeks.
The elder cat is very friendly, cuddly, loving, and wants to play all day with Mona. He hops in the bed every night. He is also VERY clean/doesn’t shed.
Mona is uninterested in all of us and couldn’t be more different (from same breeder). We try to pet her, she gets up. I try to lay next to her, she moves. I pick her up, she can’t wait to be put down. I rub her head, she turns the other way. HELP! She’s also way less cleanly than the elder cat which is interesting.
Is this normal for some cats? she’s so adorable it makes me so sad.
Something upsetting but important: ***My fiancé gave her to friends for 3 days only 3 days after we brought her home during a business trip. I’m scared she resents us. LOL
My fiancé wants to give her back to the breeder since she is cold and I’m so sad/hoping it’s a phase?
TLDR: 2 new kittens, the female British shorthair is uninterested and antisocial/ cold towards us. Is this normal/what can we do?
