Cat with UTI

Went to a new vet referred by friend this past Sunday with my one and only cat, Peanut (13). She’s never had problems before and was screaming in the middle of the night, crying, and trying to urinate or defecate on our bed. It was terrible. I thought she had a bowel obstruction or something. Vet said he would prob have to do X-rays and tests and kept her overnight. Thought tests were performed then, but he waited until the following afternoon (Monday)to run tests. Said he was drawing blood, urine, and fecal sample. I picked her up on Monday night, was sent home with antibiotics to give her 1 mg liquid twice per day, and was told he would call with test results on Tuesday. He didn’t call. In the meantime, cat is home. She’s eating usual dry food (Royal Canin) and drinking some water. Won’t eat the wet food he sent home with me. She’s never had wet food. Well, she has urinated a normal (for her) amount three times since being home. My question is that she has not defecated anywhere I can find since coming home. I’m beside myself and cannot get a straight answer from this guy. He is very old and doesn’t seem to recall if he even took a fecal sample and definitely did not do X-rays, even though I feel I was charged the same as what he quoted with X-rays. I just want my cat to be better, healthy, and not in pain. Do I need to take her to an emergency vet? I think so. I’ve called him multiple times and can’t get a straight answer about test results or why she’s constipated or anything. I’m willing to start over with someone else right now and not go back to this guy ever again. Super upset and worried. Sorry for the long post… sure I’m still missing details. Help!
