Recently we got a rescue dog to just try it out because a close friend has dog allergies . The lady we adopted her from was fine with this and she made sure that it was clear that it was ok . Once we took the dog home we gave it a bath and she showed no signs of aggression . One important thing to note is that she doesn’t bark and she will not take food yet . She was slowing got closer to me and my mom but was still shy around the males . When she came into are house we knew that it was going to be difficult because she was so shy . The rescue organization we got her from had got her when she was a puppy it had raised her since she is now about one. So there is no abuse record. She did live with 65 other dogs so that’s why we were thinking it’s a big transition. But after a couple days she still showed no aggression she was still shy though of the males. So this morning I was sitting with her because she is very close to me and my brother walked up and started petting her like usual he has done this before. And we don’t know exactly what happened we think that he was touching around her nose and mouth and she snapped . Bit him. I quickly pulled her back and she has been fine ever since . My brother also didn’t suffer any serious injuries. But after this we knew it wasn’t going to work out because she has just been so shy around them both we don’t want this to happen again. So we called the rescue lady and we will be taking her in about an hour she said that she would never expect this from this kind of dog but The dog had never been around small children so there was really no telling. After we called I’ve just been kind of hanging around her saying my goodbyes and that’s when my grandma came in and tried to sit by me and then she growled so my grandma left. So as you can tell if she’s very protective over me now. It’s very hard for me to let her go because I love her so much but I hope she finds a good home for her . I was just posting to see if anybody had any coping skills. TIA .
