We have a Norwegian Forest Cat, which as I understand it is a relative of the Maine Coon; she's 15 years old and about 14 lbs.
We think she needs an additional litter box, but the best place to put one is in our main upstairs bathroom where we do not want litter all over the floor all the time. Being such a large cat, she easily flings it over the sides of any tray-style box, even the "high walled" ones, whenever she buries her deposits.
So we need something more fully enclosed, but everything I can find in that style is clearly designed for more typically petite kitties and is just not going to accommodate our big lady.
