Hello! I have a 6 month old kitten and am looking for some advice . I adopted him from a shelter when he was 3 months old, and was living in another town. in a short amount of time a lot has changed , I have decided to go into nursing so am now taking lots of classes and I have moved to a new city. my problem is time . right now I have a spare bathroom set up with all of his toys, a shelf litter box, bed, and food , which is where i’ve been keeping him during the day while i’m at work. the problem is that I don’t feel comfortable leaving him out all day alone because he climbs on my curtains, gets into the sink, and tries to scratch my dining room chairs. I have multiple scratching posts and 2 cat trees for him but he’s more interested in my things. i play with him in the morning, when i get home from work , and before bed for about 20 mins each time, but he’s really mischievous still.When I have to focus on schoolwork i’m not able to watch him and he always winds up getting into something. I love him and don’t want to rehome him but I also know that it’s not fair to him to be in 1 room for most of the day . do others leave their kittens unattended all day? how can i keep him more entertained when i m busy ? i’m lost and really could use some advice
