How do I keep my cat off my stove

I'v has this 13 week old cat for about a week now, and I have no idea how the hell I am supposed to keep him off my stove. The kitchen is wide open , there is no way I can block it. I said no and took him off, but that made him more curious to come and try to smell and touch the stove. I AM just afraid that one day he might touch it when its hot. I also call him Kilo but he dont even know his name, he dont react to it in anyway and just do what he wants to do regardless of the consequences. If you know something that may help my situation pls share with me. I am just trying to keep him safe
