My cat has been having a heart arrhythmia and murmur, and the vet gave us a medication to try on him, but I need to monitor his heart rate. I’m trying to find an artery on his left front leg like the vet said so I can see what it’s like before I give him the medication, but I can’t feel anything because he purrs as soon as I touch him because he thinks I’m petting him. It’s incredibly adorable and hard to resist but he won’t stop. Any advice on how I could be able to tell a heartbeat from movement/purring?
