About three weeks ago, I noticed some dark speckles around the outer edge of my kitten's right ear, a lot of it concentrated in his henry's pouch (little vestigial flap on the outer ear). Being a first time pet owner, I catastrophised having figured they were ear mites & took him to the vet ASAP. When they tested the ear sample, they said it wasn't mites but it WAS a burgeoning bacterial ear infection & prescribed me some ear drops to put into his ear daily for 7-10 days.
Flash forward to today and I notice that his henry's pouch is full of black gunk Again and it may be filling up faster than it was before (granted from what I can see when he doesn't chomp at my hands when I check his inner ear canal, there doesn't seem to be that same black gunk in there). Do I take him to the vet again to have them retest his ear or just try to clean it up?
Much appreciated gang and sorry if this seems like a really dumb question!!
