Just got back from the vet today. My 4 year old mutt dog (mixed breed, 73lbs) has had significant changes in the past 6 weeks. First symptom/issue was yelping when jumping onto a very high bed. She is a very high energy dog and has done a ton of hiking/running and basically has always had an offleash walk everyday. In the past 6 weeks we have gone from a yelp jumping onto a high bed (complete normal energy levels) to a dog who doesn't want to walk around the block and has very low energy. Other things that have come up include unwillingness to stretch forward and extend legs back (second stretch after dogs do that whole downward dog pose), starts shaking her head then stops or slows down, wide stance when walking slowly, and yelps if i pick up her front paws (standing on hind legs).
All blood and urine has come back clean and had a set of xrays today to check out spine/hips/knees. Hips and knees looked perfect, no issues. The vet was focusing on the lower neck vertebrae as our discussion prior to the xrays led her to believe it may be wobblers. She showed me the xray afterwards and pointed to a spot which indicated a potential mild concern which would confirm wobblers.
Has anyone experienced this with a dog? What did your situation look likely? Any vets have any opinions?
