A little over 2 months ago we brought home Bean from the shelter. She is a 3 year old shorthair. We knew that she had a history of abuse in the past; it’s evident as well in the way she used to walk and act around us. Bit by bit she got closer to us and let us pet her and come up to her more and more.
We used to only be able to get her to come out for treats. We adopted another cat with her name Peter, who is a 9 year old male. They were together in their little room at the shelter so we took them both. They both avoided each other for a while too.
Over the past month, they have been spending more time together and playing quite frequently at night.
Basically, what this all leads up to was what happened last night. I was in bed and it was about 2am. I woke up and she was laying in the crevasse of my arm and torso licking on my arm and purring. Made my day.
