So we recently found the sweetest stray, he's an orange American short hair that's probably less than 1 year old and neutered. We already have a female tortie named Rita, she's spayed and about a year and a half old. Rita is quite skittish and shy, not very into playing, while the new male is the exact opposite. Loud, friendly, and very active. We were hesitant to introduce them at first, but our cat Rita was actually really curious about the new cat. She kept hanging around the door to the room we kept the stray boy in. However, when we did introduce them, the male kept hissing and doing angry meows at Rita, while Rita remained calm and curious. We've tried it twice like that now, (we held them a few feet apart and didn't let them get too close btw), but it still the same.
TLDR: new cat hissing at our current cat, while current cat is calm and curious
Is there a way we can get this new cat to like her?
