I live on the second floor of a condo that my mom owns and rents out to me. Because i work from home and because I work from 9-6 every day, i figured a little kitten would be a great way to help me not feel so lonely. So I went out and adopted one and he’s such a gem! Only recently I found out that our association rules that pets are not allowed on the second floor. The guy that handles our Association, who is constantly on the premises fixing things or just checking the premises is very nosy and tells the board EVERYTHING he finds so he doesn’t miss a chance to fine people or give warning or even escalate things if people don’t wanna comply. My issue is that 2 of my second floor neighbors have pets on the premises, they’re always walking them on the property and they’re always hanging out on their balcony, so the guy knows my neighbors have pets when the association states they shouldn’t have them. They’ve had them for years so I figured me having a small kitten wouldn’t be much trouble, until I found out about the association rule. I don’t want to have to hide my kitten and worry about whatever actions he wants to take against us just because I got a kitten to help me with my loneliness. How can I set up a case to present and defend my having a kitten in my condo, which my mother owns and she accepts my kitten being there, and not have to worry about him taking bigger actions towards us while our neighbors also have pets and they’ve done nothing about them. Also, giving my kitten away is not an option, I will definitely fight to keep this kitten, who is doing no harm to anything outside my own home. Thank you in advance!
