I recently started a new job in a new city which I’ll be moving to in a couple weeks. I’m planning to bring my cat, but I’m concerned if she’ll be okay by herself in the apartment while I’m in the office for most of the day. My boyfriend will be moving in as well but not for a couple of weeks, but when he does he’ll be working from home most of the time. I’m just worried about how it’ll be until then.
For context, she’s a 3yo black cat that I adopted from a shelter at 6wks old a few weeks after my mom adopted hers. Initially they were very close but now my cat spends 99% of her time in my room sleeping on my bed and doesn’t really interact with the other pets or people. Of course I really want to bring her, I love her and can’t imagine being without her but I’m concerned she’ll be lonely in the apartment when at our family home there’s always at least one presence somewhere in the house.
She can also be quite shy and jumpy, so I’m wondering if it’s best to bring her after I’m mostly moved in so she’s not terrified by my friends helping me move.
