My 14 year old Siamese cat is still limping after vet visit

About 2 weeks ago, My cat seemed to get into a fight with the new neighbor’s cats. My cat came home limping and was covered in fresh scratches and bite marks all over him. I took him to the vet and the vet said there is no need for an X-ray and he didn’t break his leg. My vet said he probably pulled a muscle in his shoulder. He prescribed him antibiotics and pain medicine and he started feeling better and wasn’t limping as bad. My cat stopped using the litter box because he is injured. He will go to the bathroom on the carpet which is problematic. I let him outside at night. The bad thing is, he climbs and jumps over the fence to meow at my window to let him in. Any time I let him outside, he jumps on top of our cars parked in the driveway. It seems like he’s not healing any more and he’s limping badly. I really wish I could keep him inside more often so that he can recover better. Is there any way I can prevent him from going to the bathroom on the carpet in the house?
