My cat has always been a pretty chill dude. He has his bouts of craziness like any cat, but he's generally pretty sweet and in the past he has only gotten riled up by babies and dogs (which I'm not a huge fan of either so this has never bothered me). I used to have female roommates and he was always cool with them. When I had a male roommate they got super close (so close I'm not going to lie I got a bit jealous). My cat began to have a preference for dudes. He would ignore my female friends but get instantly cozy with any man I brought over.
Now I live alone and his preference has become much stronger to the point that he hisses at my lady friends. This past weekend I had to shut him in my room bc he started acting very aggressively towards one of them and I wasn't sure if he would attack (I've never seen him attack anyone). Just for some context I am a woman, and he loves me immensely. Has anyone had this happen to them though? I'm not super worried about it but I am curious why he would change like this. He's even hissed at my first roommate he used to love!
