Rehoming dogs in NJ

After a LOT of heartache it’s necessary for me to rehome my two dogs. The short story is divorce. Don’t really want to go into details.

I adore them. And they really deserve a better quality of life. They are on the small/mid size. One is a chihuahua/Pomeranian mix, super smart and spritely. The other is a schnauzer, a cuddle bug and not as agile as the mix. Both 7 years old, loving and super cute, healthy etc.

Both very friendly and great with kids. I want them in a happy home, where they’ll be loved and can play. The home doesn’t need kids (I’m by myself) but think they’ll enjoy it, they’re great with my nieces and nephews. They should stay together.

I’ve seen posts that have some suggestions on rehoming. Asking if there is anything specific to NJ that you all can think of? Is it unreasonable of me to try to get them into a home together? Any other general feedback or advice is welcome.

It’s taken me a lot to get to this point and realize I love them enough that keeping them in a dull, sad, indefinite situation is no good at all.

Thank you
