Hi,
My senior cat passed away 6 months ago. I'm still hurting but I'm really starting to miss the company of a furry friend. I've fostered a few cats since then, which made me realize how challenging it is to adjust a new pet to your home. Perhaps the animal was used to a much bigger house with more room to play, being in a brand new environment stresses them out, it could smell odors of past animals which would lead to stress, etc.. I also live in a one-room apartment, which means I'm unable to keep the new cat in one room all to himself while he's getting adjusted.
This made me think maybe getting a kitten would be better for someone in my situation? From what I've seen, kittens generally adjust to a new home almost right away and cling to you quickly.
I would really appreciate your opinions from the experiences you've had :)
