Adopted Puppy from Shelter

Hey Guys

My girlfriend and I live in a ~500 sq ft studio apartment in NYC.

We have both been really been excited about getting a puppy and were able to adopt a 2 1/2 month beagle mix from a shelter last friday.

It was tough getting use to his schedule and energy but we had been doing well for about a week. He didn't have his shots yet so we had to be careful when handling him outside but our building included a nice little park that we would take him to play.

When we would go back to our apartment he would get really sad and cry about wanting to go outside. One of our doormen said this type of dog needs a full backyard to play in and he said he has one and would love to take him from us and give him a better life.

I feel so torn about giving up our puppy who I love very much and wanted your guys thoughts if we would make the right decision by giving him up to the guard. We have had him for a week now and need to decide on what to do.

Is it hurtful for the puppy to be in a studio apartment for his life and only being able to get out once in a while?

Any advice would be great!

Thank you!
