The cat is very young. We don't have a real name for her, but I've been calling her Little Cat because who already have a fat indoor cat. We found Little Cat, her mother, and another kitten hiding in our bushes one day, and we tried to take care of them. I believe its mother was abandoned on our street and it gave birth to them somewhere nearby. We believe the sibling died because we could never find it after the first day. The mother then abandoned Little Cat shortly after and we haven't seen her since.
The cat has been living in our yard, and we have been feeding it on our back porch. Recently it's gotten pregnant, and I'm worried about how to prepare for the birth of the new kittens. My parent's plan is to just deal with it when it happens, but that doesn't sound like a good idea to me. I feel like we should be making preparations to make sure the cat gives birth safely and the kittens aren't eaten by wild animals. I don't want any of the kitten's dying as her sibling did.
I'm also worried about what to do with them once they're born. My father doesn't want any more indoor cats, and I don't know if all the new cats could live together outdoors, so we'll probably end up getting rid of them eventually. What is the best way to do this and how long should we wait to take them away from their mother?
