Is the way our rabbits live alright?

Hello,

Not sure if this is the right place to post, feel free to remove my post if it isnt.

Recently I have been thinking a lot about whether our rabbits (three, appoximately 7 to 8 years old, we got them from a farm when me and my sisters were younger) are "happy" living with us or would be better of if they were to be relocated.

To clarify, they are not being neglected or starved or something. They get fresh food everyday (Carrots etc) have their own water bowl which is also refreshed daily and have a rather big "cage" (indoors, approximately 5×5m, 2 m high) as well as three "rabbit toilets" (cleaned every one to two days), a place for dried grass and multiple wooden houses and blankets. They have each other as company, sometimes I go visit them and my sister is the one that cleans their living space.

So what I am asking is if they are "happy" or need more company. Whenever I go to see them they venture to me but are not particularely fond of being touched unless you persuaed them with treats, so I dont really believe that they enjoy or "need" my company. We do have a garden, but there is no grass, and there are some things, as well as cats, which might be dangerous for them to encounter or eat.

I know that it is not ideal that they are always indoors, so I would greatly appriciate it if an experienced rabbit owner could tell me if their living situation is alright or if they should be relocated to a place where they get more attention and the opportunity to be outdoors.

Thanks in advance, please be civil.
