Last month I noticed my two cats had fleas so I treated them both with frontline spot on, sprayed the house down with flea spray and combed the cats every other day. 4 weeks on they still had fleas so I booked them in at vets4pets to try and get something stronger.
When I took both cats to the vet and was told to get something from the pet shop as it will be much cheaper than if the vet seen them( I know you pay to see the vet as well as for anything else they give you) and I was told to clean my house from top to bottom with boiling water or get a fumigator in to deal with the fleas.
Now I've not had any veterinary training but i know if the root cause isn't treated the problem wont go away and if the flea treatment didn't work first time its certainly not going to work the second time around.
Thankfully i managed to talk her in to treating both cats and they have finally stopped scratching.
I'm finding a new vet also
