Sunny (female,1.5 year old cat) adopted me around 2 months ago. She was left behind by her old owners and kept coming up to my door steps to feed her as she saw that I have other cats. I fed her for a week until I noticed a wound under her arm pit (as I later found out she must have been attacked by a dog and a part of muscle and skin was torn off by the vet) and took her in to a separate room for her to be safe and warm.
The next day I took her to the vets for the surgery and was offered to put a microchip on her with my name. I was hesitant but agreed as I already fell in love with her at that point.
Problems started when I introduced her to the rest of my house after she healed (approx. 1 month ago). I have an adult dog(my sisters), 2 adult cats and a kitten. On the first day she couldn't be near any of my pets (they were being friendly) so I did my best to keep them somewhat separated.
She also a lot of the time attacks me (or anyone in my family) when I try to pet her (maybe she was abused?). She is somewhat calmer around them as she doesn't hiss whenever another cat takes just another step but still doesn't like them. She doesn't like the dog one bit but the problem will be solved very soon as my sister is moving away.
I have no idea if she is going ever tolerate my cats or stop being aggressive. She also pees on my bed almost once per day which I suspect is because she's anxious.
As much as I love her the problems might not stop and I want my cats to feel at home too.
So should I rehome my cat?
