We lost our goofy, loyal, love-bug of a lab in Sept due to cancer. While we could never forget him, and he’ll always have a special place in our hearts, it’s because of our love for him that we’ve decided to open and home and hearts to another fur baby. We have an elderly beagle and cat (who also miss him), so want to be sure we find the right companion to add to our home. We’ve been keeping an eye on the local shelters, but they either are not cat friendly or don’t get along with other dogs. Where else should we be looking? I am open to a rescue or puppy, I just want it to be a good fit for all of us. Should I just keep watching the shelters?
