My dog won’t stop crying, any advice?

BTW by crying I mean whining. Maybe crying wasn’t the best word to use

So my grandma is staying with us for about a week. My dog stayed with my grandma for about a month in her country (I won’t say where) before coming to live with us.

She can’t touch any animals right now, her doctors permitted her against it since she’s getting an operation.

We’re keeping my dog in the basement (Don’t worry it’s basically a play room. It has everything down there) so that he can’t get her sick.

My dog has been crying and barking non stop for 3 days because he wants her to carry him, but she can’t.

I tried calming him down and petting him and playing with him but he won’t stop.

I don’t want him to get too stressed and it’s been really annoying and sad to hear since he’s barking and whimpering all day.

He’s a 3 year old long haired chihuahua.

How can we make him stop?
