For as long as I can remember I always wanted a cat so I had no problem when our family friends moved in with us with their two cats. I’ve hung out at their place when we lived separate and had no issues with their cats, the female was very shy but playful, it was a honor if she let you pet her. The male is a laidback old fart that lives like a house decoration, he finds a spot and sleeps there for hours until he decides it’s time to groom himself. It’s been about 7 months since we all started living together and the female cat has started creeping me out to the point I don’t ever think I’ll own a cat now. She’ll randomly hid in the upper kitchen cabinets and jump scare me, she claws at walls every now and again but usually at night, when you get up in the middle of the night sometimes she’ll be sitting at the end of the hallway with her squinty displeased look and just stare. I think the worst though is when I can hear her on the baby monitor at night. Again clawing at the walls or putting her claws in the play foam floor mat at 2am if I forget to close that door. She didn’t alway creep me out, the feelings started shortly after our roommates told us to no longer let her on the table. it just almost feels like she senses the anxiety and enjoys causing it. Anyone else have something similar? It’s just the female cat I have no issues with the male he doesn’t give me the heebie-jeebies at all but my heart jumps out of my chest every single time she’s in the cabinet.
