So, I just bought two new rugs and they smell strongly of chemical. I guess it is called 'off-gassing' and contains chemicals called VOCs which can contain formaldehyde? These rugs were very expensive so throwing them out isn't an option and I live in an apartment so I can't just leave them out to air out. I'm concerned about the health of my two cats though. Is this off-gassing a health risk for my cats? If so, any ideas of what I can do to get the rugs cat-ready?
