Okay, I did not think I'd have to make this post but I'm getting frustrated. I have a cat who is not spayed (our other cats are, she is an exception due to preexisting conditions, I will not discuss further so please no "just spay her" comments, I would, and it would be much easier on us, but I'm trying to do what's best for her). She goes into heat every once in a while, and up until now it was fine. What's changed is that this is her first heat cycle since I've had a baby, and sleep is oh so precious. She will not leave us alone while we're in bed, and I worry she'll try to climb into the baby's crib.
I feel bad even asking, but would it be okay to cage her just at night so we can sleep? Is it too mean to do? We don't have a room we could just put her in, otherwise I would choose that, I love her and have had her since I found her in a dumpster 4 years ago as a tiny baby. I really don't want her to feel unloved or unwanted, but I desperately need sleep. It's 3am and I'm exhausted
