I have two different kittens from different shelters that I’ve had for two weeks and I need to rehome them. My partner who lives with me found out he is severely allergic and medicines don’t help and it’s gotten so bad that he can’t sleep here, on top of the fact that I’m not home enough to give them enough attention and I already feel so guilty and have been crying every day this week. The problem is that the shelters each request that adopted pets be brough back to their shelter alone. I called them and they both said that the kittens would be separated if I brought them in. This breaks my heart because they’re bonded and spend all day playing and sleeping together. I think they need to be be adopted together. Should I go ahead against the shelter’s wishes and try to find someone to adopt them as a pair on my own, or listen to the shelter and allow them to be separated? I want only what’s best for them.
