Cat won't sleep through the night

Hey everyone,

I'm a first time cat owner and am having some issues with my cat. He's around 6 months old. When it comes to sleeping through the night he will wake me up multiple times through the night. It's usually either him sniffing my face or him pushing against me to clean.

Things I have tried:

• I could play with him for an hour or not at all right before bed and it doesn't changed how long he will sleep.

• I have tried moving his meal time to right before bed and it just seems to give him energy.

I'm at my wit's end, and am at the point where I may just lock him in the bathroom since there is no door to the bedroom.

Any help is appreciated!
