My kitten is 7 months old and is a sweetheart. I rescued her from a shelter in June and she has made my life so much better. She is very energetic and playful to the extreme sometimes, but for the most part she is always behaved as much as a kitten could possibly be. My mom loves Christmas and as soon as Thanksgiving passed, she set up the tree and decorated it with a bunch of ornaments she recently bought. My kitten immediately noticed and has been attacking the tree ever since it went up. Sometimes she just plays with ornaments that are lowest to the ground and other times she literally climbs up it. My mom is definitely not too happy about it because the tree and ornaments were pretty expensive altogether and my little sister has already broken some of her new decorations. My kitten tries to bite the lights on it and goes inside of the tree and starts climbing up it.
I don't want her harming herself since biting the lights and glass ornaments could obviously be dangerous for her if they end up breaking. Its so bad to the point where she can't even be in the living room because she goes straight for the tree. I know things like yelling at her or spraying her with water would not be effective at all and will just make her scared and confused. Is there anything that could repel her from the tree? I love having her in the living room with me, but she won't stop climbing the tree and i have no clue on how to try to get her to stop.
