My kitten went into heat and her appointment to get spayed is in Three weeks. Is there a way to keep her out of her heat cycle?

I adopted a stray kitten and due to my work schedule the appointment I set up to get my kitten spayed is in February. I set up the appointment last week. Of course the very next day my kitten went into heat. She luckily is not loud but she is annoying. She will not leave me alone and keeps doing the come hither thing that cats do. The poor thing must be miserable. Is there anything I can do to prevent her from going into heat again until she gets spayed? How often will she go into heat? I am not worried about her getting pregnant. She is strictly indoors.
