I’m not even sure if this is the right place to post this but I’m sorry if it isn’t. So last night I got to work around 10pm and my wife is doing a little cleaning around the house. So she decides to change the litter boxes for our two cats since trash comes on Friday. Well our tiger striped tabby Izzy loves to run outside. She will run out and usually prowl around the parked cars which is no more than 20ft or so from our door. We immediately get her and bring her back in. She isn’t fixed but isn’t in heat either at the moment. Well as my wife was coming back in Izzy darted outside and this time it was different. She saw an animal of some sort at the end our our driveway and took off chasing it about 4-5 houses down from what my wife said. Our pets are like our children. She looked for about two hours before calling me hysterically crying while I was at work. I left and came home to try and help. Circled our whole loop in our area and nothing. I’ve even taken a flashlight out about 3-4 times and walked up and down our street softly calling her name to see if she’d come out or show herself. I honestly don’t know what to do. My wife will be devastated if anything happens to this cat since she is so attached. She also didn’t eat last night so hoping she comes home at some point hungry. I also put out some stuff that has our scent and hers maybe with the possibility of picking up on it. I’m worried she chased whatever animal this way too far and won’t be able to find her way home. Any advice at all is so greatly appreciated. Thank you.
