Cat biting kitten's neck? Not sure if play.

Hello everyone,

I have two kittens (not sure if one is considered a kitten anymore?). The first one is a male who's name is Luffy and he is about 6.5 months old. I just got another cat named Mai who is a female that is 9 weeks old. The male is neutered.

Anywho, I brought her home and had her in a separate room. Luffy could tell right aways something was up and proceeded to hiss at the door. Me being dumb and not doing my research I decided it would be a good idea to leave her in her kennel or carrier and have him sniff around it. It ended up being him hissing at her and staring at her for like 15 minutes straight. Afterwards he would also literally hiss at anything that smelled like her. During this time she learned how to hiss and hissed back at him. Something that might be note worthy is he is very attached to me. He will follow me around almost always and sleeps with me or in my window almost every single night. When I leave the house he will most of the time just sleep on the chair by the door waiting for me to come home. Long story short I watched some videos after and started doing the method of feeding them with a door in between. At first he wouldn't even touch his food and would just hiss, occasionally grabbing a chunk and dragging it elsewhere to eat. Slowly he started eating and within the week they were literally eating 1 foot away from the door on each side. Something to note about her is she is the complete opposite of him, when I got him and even now he is very cautious about things. If I open the door outside or anything he goes out very slowly and makes sure he understands everything before he runs. I could take him outside and he wouldn't run away, he would literally sniff around and be very cautious. Her on the other hand... if I open any door she is flying around sniffing and jumping on everything. She is the opposite of shy and literally came out of her carrier 1 hour after she got to my house.

Anywho, my nephew opened a bedroom door not realizing the situation and he ran in and saw her. To my surprise he didn't attack her and they ended up sniffing eachother until she decided to slap him. He slapped her back and then they started hissing a little bit. I broke it up but slowly over the next couple days let them spend some time together and they never got too violent. The most being some hissing and slapping. Anywho, fast forward around 5 days now and anytime they are together he will literally jump on her and pin her to the ground and bite her. I can't tell if the bites are hard because i don't see any marks and she doesn't cry everytime only sometimes. The other thing is that it seems like half the time she wants more as she will run and hide under my dresser for like 2 seconds and then come running out towards him, to me this seems like she thinks it's playing but i'm also not sure if maybe she's dumb and forgot what just happened lol. He's way bigger than her which is worrying me and why I am not leaving them unsupervised together. Anywho, my question is do you think this is him asserting dominance? Should I stop putting them together? Is he trying to hurt her? I really am not sure what to do going forward. They both slept in my bed with me the other day and didn't fight at all as well. Another thing is that now even if I put their food bowls side by side they will both eat no problem.

Any advice?

Thanks so much and sorry for the big wall of text!
