Killed fleas on cat, but cat has tapeworms, is there still fleas?

My kittens had fleas and I promptly got them treated along with everything in my house.

I didn't know tapeworms and fleas went hand and hand at the time and now see they have tapeworms. I wish the vet would have told me this before it becoming a problem now.

It's been about a month since the flea treatment and I haven't seen fleas since, i also went through then again with the flea comb and see nothing. At the time I caught the fleas VERY early and they are indoor cats.

I don't have carpet and quarantined their cat tower at the time for three weeks in cold weather along with washing everything in hot water in the laundry.

I'm less concerned about the tapeworms but the fleas. Should I be treating them again along with the tapeworm? Tapeworm will be easiest to get rid of as they can't live on anything. But is it possible to have the tapeworm from not catching it with the previous flea treatment?

I am still a newer cat owner, the vet also said I wouldn't have to get them treated for fleas again unless they caught them. I will definitely get the tapeworms treated but I'm just not sure what the best uh steps?? Order is?
