Could a Hyena hypothetically be domesticated, and kept as a pet?

I want to preface this by saying that for moral reasons, I would never go out of my way to get a hyena, and I dont think anyone should unless they are a professional and know how to handle potentially aggressive carnivores.

However, that said, they seem to have I guess a rigid similarity to wolves as far as potential aggression, but also their potential to bond with a human. Living in the US, I have heard of a few people owning wolves of wolfdogs as pets, so could you hypothetically do the same with a Hyena? Again I want to say I'm not asking because I want to, more because I have always loved hyenas since I was a kid kid, but they seem to get a very negative reputation compared to other mammalian carnivores, which I have really never understood. They seem to be just as, if not more intelligent than dogs or cats according to studies like this
